About the Job
Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Configuration Analyst to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing Configuration Management (CM) activities related to the design, development, and production of complex systems in a defense environment. This role involves both independent and team-oriented work, focusing on managing changes to approved configurations using a systematic and measurable change process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage changes to approved configurations according to a systematic change process.
- Deliver and maintain engineering technical data packages (TDP), applying CM processes as outlined in the CM Plan.
- Support configuration management and quality audits, developing solutions for moderate scope and complexity issues, with guidance from company policies and procedures.
- Explain solutions, practices, and procedures to others in the organization.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Procurement, and Manufacturing personnel.
Skills Required:
- Experience with database management.
- Proficient in MS Office suite for preparing metrics, reports, and documents.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Sound interpersonal skills for interfacing with company personnel, customers, and suppliers.
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
- General knowledge of configuration management and design engineering standards, including military standards MIL-HDBK-61A, MIL-STD-31000, industry CM standard EIA-649, and/or Drawing standards ASME Y14.24 and ASME Y14.100.
Skills Preferred:
- Formal training in Configuration Data Management (CDM).
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, including complex formulas.
- Familiarity with CMMI requirements.
- Ability to develop and demonstrate research and presentation skills.
- Experience using Windchill to manage product data.
Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
- 4+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in the defense industry.
