Job Title: Senior Cloud Engineer

Location: Cambridge, MA Area (Onsite 2-3 days per week required)

Overview:

The team at Edge Staffing is excited to partner with an innovative Software Development company in the Cambridge, MA area in their search for a SeniorCloud Engineer to join their team in 2025!

In this role, you'll play a key part in decomposing a monolithic infrastructure into scalable microservices. You’ll tackle high-level design challenges, analyze existing architecture, and deliver innovative cloud solutions. This is a senior-level role that offers the opportunity to lead the design and implementation of cutting-edge cloud infrastructure while collaborating with a highly skilled team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement cloud infrastructure components to support microservices architecture.
• Analyze existing architecture and recommend improvements to drive scalability and maintainability.
• Ensure seamless communication between APIs and backend services.
• Improve codebases to enhance performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate high-level requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in system design, architecture, and code reviews.
• Mentor junior developers on best practices in software development.
• Provide on-call support during critical scenarios and troubleshoot production issues when needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and application development.
• Expertise in Python; experience with Go is a strong plus.
• Hands-on experience with AWS (Azure experience is also a plus).
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and system design principles.
• Proven ability to analyze and improve existing architecture and design scalable solutions.
• Experience with relational databases, APIs, and backend communication.
• Knowledge of best practices for maintainable, scalable, and reliable software solutions.

Work Environment:

• Hybrid schedule: 2 -3 days onsite in the Boston area (preference for additional onsite time).
