Senior Cloud Application Developer

A Fortune 50 financial services company based in McLean, VA, is currently seeking a remote Senior Cloud Application Developer. This role involves designing and building highly scalable data pipelines while providing technical leadership within the team.

About the Opportunity:

• Hybrid or Remote: Fully remote
• Shift: M-F
• Schedule: Core hours
• Hours: 8 AM - 4:30 PM EST
• Setting: Remote work environment (cannot log in outside of US)

Responsibilities:
The Senior Cloud Application Developer will be responsible for:

• Designing and building highly scalable data pipelines.
• Providing technical guidance and education to team members on development and operations of streaming and event-driven applications.
• Recognizing potential issues and risks during project implementation and suggesting mitigation strategies.
• Communicating and managing the process of manipulating and merging large datasets.

Qualifications:

• 7-10+ years of experience in software development.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Advanced experience in distributed Java (8+) and Spring Boot.
• Proficient in Web Services, including WSDL, SOAP/XML, RESTful web services, and Microservices.
• Experience in building, deploying, and maintaining applications in Azure Cloud.
• Recent experience with event-driven applications and event streaming.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Desired Skills:

• 3+ years of experience with Azure Cloud, Azure Kubernetes Service, and Event Hubs.
• Advanced certifications in cloud technologies (preferred).
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
