Position Summary
Responsible for analyzing and supporting the recruiting, training, and mentoring efforts for assigned areas to promote engagement and retention in the claims organization. Partners with various HR centers of excellence (COEs) to attract, train, develop, and retain claims talent. Identifies, develops, and conducts training opportunities to direct the design and implementation of insurance, professional and leadership training, and development for claims branch office talent. Develops, facilitates, and/or conducts training. Identifies and implements attraction strategies to meet current and future demands of the business that promotes ERIE as an employer of choice and coordinates with claims offices to implement. Ensures programs are proactive, customer-centric and in line with divisional and corporate strategies.
- There are three (3) positions available.
- The hiring manager will consider candidates for Senior Claims Talent Specialist or Claims Talent Consultant. Level of position offered will be based on depth and breadth of candidates' experience and qualifications. Qualifications and Duties and Responsibilities are outlined for each position below.
- The positions will be regionally based, and the incumbent(s) should live either in the region they will be responsible for, or in Erie, PA.
- Incumbent(s) will work in a hybrid arrangement per company policy and be expected to report in-person to an ERIE branch field office, or our Westport Office in Erie, PA (Millcreek) as required.
Duties and Responsibilities - Senior Claims Talent Specialist
Analyzes training and hiring needs for assigned claims offices and collaborates with various HR COEs, claims leadership, and/or subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop and/or deliver innovative training and attraction and retention solutions.
Supports mentoring programs directed at supporting newly hired claims talent and/or improving the performance of more established talent.
Participates in the development and implementation of recruitment strategies to establish pipelines of qualified candidates to meet current and future demands of the business.
Assists the creation and delivery of training for assigned areas.
Assists with the support of ERIE's diversity recruitment efforts, including coordinating with talent acquisition partners and claims leadership to develop and mature ongoing relationships with community organizations.
Participates with claims offices on industry related events, including campus/technical school recruiting, and events hosted by professional organizations.
Collaborates with peers to maintain consistency across regions for developing new and innovative ways to attract, develop and engage claims talent.
Tracks metrics and analyzes performance of programs, to ensure supported programs meet business needs.
Stays abreast of industry trends and best practices, and ERIE claims policy/procedure incorporating relevant insights into training programs.

Duties and Responsibilities - Claims Talent Consultant
Analyzes training and hiring needs for assigned claims offices and collaborates with various HR COEs, claims leadership, and/or subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop and/or deliver innovative training and attraction and retention solutions.
Manages large projects with limited oversight. Coaches, reviews and delegates work for lower-level professionals. Partners with management on projects and on key action items and initiatives.
Creates metrics, dashboards and methods to evaluate the performance of programs. Analyzes and reports on progress to claims leadership.
Collaborates with peers and claims leadership to create and support mentoring programs directed at supporting newly hired claims talent and/or improving the performance of more established talent.
Collaborates with peers to maintain consistency across regions for developing new and innovative ways to attract, develop and engage claims talent.
Partners with branch/region leadership and ERIE's talent acquisition team to develop and implement recruitment strategies to establish pipelines of qualified candidates to meet current and future demands of the business.
Participates with claims offices on industry related events, including campus/technical school recruiting, and events hosted by professional organizations.
Actively supports ERIE's diversity recruitment efforts, including coordinating with talent acquisition partners and claims leadership to develop and mature ongoing relationships with community organizations.

Senior Claims Talent Specialist:
Bachelor's degree in business, education, communications, or a related field and five years of claims handling experience, required; or
Associate degree in business, education, communications, or a related field and seven years of claims handling experience, required; or
High school diploma and nine years of claims handling experience required.
Experience with organizing and analyzing data required.
Travel for training and business required.
Experience with cross functional teams preferred.
Ability to apply talent acquisition and retention strategies across a large business area preferred.
Claims supervisory experience preferred.
Completion of insurance industry courses and designations preferred.
