About the Job
Urban is currently seeking Civil Engineers with 5+ years of experience in the design of land development engineering projects. Successful candidates would be based in our Annandale or Chantilly office.

Urban Ltd. provides full-service civil engineering, transportation engineering, land planning, landscape architecture and surveying services to private and public sector clients throughout the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.
Candidates
Must have a B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
EIT certification is preferred, but not required
Experience in designing, preparing and processing land development applications required
Experience in designing, preparing and processing land development applications in Northern Virginia jurisdictions is preferred, but not required
Candidates must have the ability to make well-informed design decisions based on their knowledge of civil engineering concepts and locality requirements
Contributes to the preparation of full sets of construction plans
Ensure the quality of all work completed
Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is required
Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must
Typical Duties Will Include
Creation of CAD drawings and details for site and subdivision plans
Site Layout and utility design
Horizontal and vertical design of roadways
Preparation of erosion and sediment control plans
Generating hydrologic computations for SWM facilities
Performing pavement design computations
Performing site distance analysis
Preparing site work quantity take-offs.
Coordination with internal and external engineers, architects, etc.
