POSITION SUMMARY
Alterra Mountain Company is looking for a Sr. Change Manager and Practice Leader to be a thought leader, coach and ambassador within our change management function. This position will create and facilitate a variety of change management initiatives and be responsible for ensuring we have a consistent, organized and effective set of practices, processes and tools that support a variety of change management initiatives.
This position is not a management position and does not have direct reports.
Working under the direction of the Director, IT Program Management Office (PMO), the Change Management Practice Leader will have split responsibilities. 70% of their time will be spent working alongside a project manager managing medium to large size, moderately complex projects, or initiatives. The other 30% of their time they will spend ensuring best practices, standardization, coaching and education around our change management practices.
This person will focus on the people side of change, including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organizational structures.

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Alterra Mtn Co Shared Services Inc. salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of the Company's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.
Denver area base salary range: $100,000 to $135,000 per year

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
General Responsibilities
- Continuous review and improvement of change management practices, processes, tools and templates.
- Lead a change management community of practice
- With the change management team, create standards and coach the team to follow these standards with excellence.
- Educate the organization on our change management methods, focusing on the value proposition that change management brings to the organization.
- Create and implement change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance.
- Own and lead change-related activities including stakeholder identification, change impact analysis, communications planning, training planning, readiness assessment, and adoption measurement.
- Hands-on development of communications and training materials that support a successful transition to various application/software for end-users.
- Develop change management plans for projects and/or change initiatives.
- Identify and manage anticipated resistance to change.
- Lead change management work streams with a structured methodology / process.
- Work to drive faster adoption, higher ultimate utilization of, and proficiency with, the changes that impact employees.
- Create strong relationships with business and project stakeholders to build a network of change champions and agents.
- Quickly become familiar with client business challenges and technologies to understand the environment for change, and act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders while leading change.
- Support project teams in integrating change management activities into project plans.
- Provide input, document requirements, and support the design and delivery of training programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements
- A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process.
- A self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication abilities; analytic, organizational, listening and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity working alongside a project manager(s), business analyst, and other project team members.
- Possess and demonstrates knowledge and expertise in change management methodologies and tools, facilitation skills, and change management techniques.
- Experienced in leading others through changes to the way they work and how they interact with enterprise technology
- Familiarity with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to ask questions or perform research to develop a deep technical understanding.
- A team player that motivates project team, drives to project success, and influences large cross-functional teams without direct reporting responsibility.
- A high degree of perseverance, adaptability, and tolerance for ambiguity. Comfortable shifting focus as project priorities or unexpected events that might arise.
- Ability to work under deadline pressures and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and other Alterra employees.
- Professional/lived experience working in a culturally competent manner with a diverse range of people.
- Ability to effectively work on several projects/change initiatives in parallel.
- Conflict resolution and negotiation skills.

- Advanced competency with MS Office toolset including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Change management certification or designation desired
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a common field such as business administration, human resources, or change management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years direct change management experience; defining change management initiatives and risk assessment/mitigation planning with business and IT projects.
- Experience using change management processes and methodologies and implementing processes across multiple levels of the organization.
- Experience in building change management process and tools to support change management practices across an organization.
- Experience in coaching change management practitioners and driving excellence in the change management function.
- Experience with medium to large-scale organizational change efforts.
- Experience working successfully with both technical personnel and non-technical customers and staff.
