About the Job
The Sr. Category Sourcing Specialist position is an integral part of the Strategic Sourcing team, responsible for partnering with the department’s category teams to help drive value through the category management model and strategic sourcing process. This position will manage and assist with several direct material categories, including metals (steel, aluminum), resins (PVC, Polypropylene), and colorants / coatings (paints, lamination).
The Sr. Category Sourcing Specialist will work closely with several Category Managers from the Strategic Sourcing team to align internal customer needs with marketplace opportunities to optimize the procurement value proposition. This position will also assist in driving continuous improvement of related processes throughout Cornerstone Building Brands. In addition, the Sr. Category Sourcing Specialist must possess an ability to work in a fast paced, cross-functional, and collaborative environment while meeting team goals and business needs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist Category Managers in developing advanced multi-year category strategies designed to anticipate enterprise-wide requirements while optimizing forecasted shifts in both supply markets, industry trends and supplier economic cycles. Create and implement sourcing strategies for assigned categories of spend, manage the development of RFx materials, detailed analysis of proposals and vendor capabilities, negotiations, and supplier selection.
- Build and manage relationships with business unit teams, to enable implementation of business strategies through team alignment, facilitate a sourcing process to coordinate those goals, and closely collaborate with teams to negotiate, contract, and award business to suppliers
- Lead the development and negotiation of contracts with new suppliers and/or renegotiate existing contracts to accomplish lowest total system cost
- Conduct category spend analyses and reporting, supplier stratification, supply market and category industry research

- Bachelor’s degree required with preference in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of relevant business experience required, preferably in Strategic Sourcing or Purchasing
- Superior communication, presentation, and analytical skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects
- Direct experience with core sourcing skills (negotiation, contracting) and ability to implement sourcing best practices
- Must be able to analyze data and prepare appropriate sourced vendor contracts, goods and services evaluations; ability to communicate results effectively
- Uses knowledge of industry and market trends to assist in development of long-term category strategies
- Strategic mindset. Effectively presents complex topics in a concise manner to audiences at various levels and in various sizes
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and meet deadlines that require frequent communication, organization/time management, and problem-solving skills
- Strong program and project management skills
- Proven track record for working effectively in a team environment and cultivating strong internal and external relationships
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Travel: up to 10%

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $90,000 - $105,000 + 5% Annual Bonus + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day one + 401k and PTO. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
