Senior Buyer
A large, privately owned electronics manufacturing company is growing and looking a Senior Buyer and Purchasing Supervisor. In this role, you will oversee the procurement of all material requirements, as well as production supplies. The company is housed in a 77,000-square-foot facility and has about 120 employees. Specializing in quick-turn Printed Circuit Board Assembly they provide same day turnaround for PCBA prototypes. People love working at this client and they have very low turnover.
Location : Moorpark, CASalary : $85,000 - 90,000/yr (DOE)
This is a fulltime, direct-hire position
Schedule: Mon-Thu 6:00 am - 4:30 pm. Company has a 4/10 schedule: work 10 hrs/day for Mon-Thu and get Fri/Sat/Sun off each week.

Responsibilities:
- Reviews and coordinates purchase requests for quotes, bids, and proposals.
- Prepares all aspects of procurement solicitations.
- Assures full competition and documentation of actions, issues award letters, contracts and/or purchase orders.
- Negotiates with suppliers establishing price, delivery, quantity, payment terms and scope of work
- Research sources of supply.
- Is a liaison between vendor, sales and engineering.
- Maintains records in accordance with established policies/procedures and audit guidelines.
- Performs hands-on day to day purchasing activities including buying materials and interacting with internal/external customers.
- Assist lower-level buyers with complex procurements.
- Managing daily purchasing activities, supervising staff, and allocating tasks.
- Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines.
- Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.
- Analyze existing purchasing processes for performance.
- Implement improvements to existing purchasing processes and delivery systems.
- Identify ideal suppliers based on quality, cost and reliability.
- Training new employees in the purchasing process and how to use the purchasing system.
- Developing, lead and execute purchasing strategies.
- Tracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
Requirements :
- Relevant experience in purchasing, procurement, contracts management, or component sales/marketing.
- A minimum of two years of staff management/supervision.
- Experience with Excel and MRP/ERP systems is a must.
- Requires a working knowledge of ITAR, DPAS rated contracts, cost analysis techniques and the ability to develop and deliver effective presentations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with vendors, customers and other internal departments is an important requirement.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills is a must.
- Employee must have the ability to investigate and analyze information, and be able to draw appropriate conclusions.
- A strong negotiating skill is an integral component to fulfilling this position.
- AA or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Administration, Finance or closely related field or equivalent certification in Purchasing/Procurement. Or any equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable job knowledge and skills will have been obtained .
