General Job Description
The Senior Buyer plays a critical role in driving procurement efficiency and ensuring supply chain reliability. This position requires strategic thinking, relationship-building, and a proactive approach to sourcing. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in procurement and sourcing, excellent analytical skills. The Senior Buyer will help in efforts to secure quality goods and services, optimize costs, and mitigate supply chain risks.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to negotiate favorable pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
- Manage assigned portfolio by collaborating with internal and external customers to ensure supply continuity. Anticipate potential risks, identify actual delivery challenges, and take proactive steps to inform all stakeholders of issues and proposed resolutions
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to optimize working capital and avoid stockouts.
- Develop and manage procurement contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.
- Assess supplier risks and implement contingency plans to prevent supply chain disruptions.
- Collaborate with internal departments to align purchasing strategies with organizational goals.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost, quality, delivery time, and supplier performance.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.
- Demonstrated success in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
