Responsibilities:Under the direction of Managers or Master Consultants, the Senior Consultant associate will collect detailed requirements and direct development of enterprise data-management and business-intelligence solutions for clients in a variety of industries. The Senior Consultant will be expected to conduct and lead development successfully in multiple technology platforms (particularly Snowflake, Microsoft Azure and Power BI, and/or Qlik) and to create solutions that support delivery of analytic products to end users through a combination of dashboards, custom web applications, and packaged data products.
Responsibilities:
- Work with clients in the role as Business Analyst to collect detailed requirements to define star-schema data models, integrate data to populate those data models, and deliver results through data visualizations and custom web applications.
- Estimate work efforts required to develop these analytic solutions based on Wipfli staffing and project-management models.
- Assist Project Managers to develop project plans.
- Conduct development, and lead the efforts of data engineers, ELT developers, and business-intelligence developers to develop, test, and deploy analytic applications that combine enterprise data-management and business-intelligence components.
- Properly document developed and unit-tested data-management components so that Wipfli managed-services staff or client’s system-administration staff can maintain the system after deployment.
- Participate in developing standardized approaches and methodologies for improving the quality and time-to-delivery of advanced analytic solutions.
- Earn and maintain certifications associated with enterprise-data and/or business-intelligence technology platforms.
- Learn new technologies, or new features of existing technologies, so that Wipfli can incorporate these into our service offerings.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject area.
- Four to six years of experience in business analysis, enterprise database development, or business-intelligence development. Preference to candidates with experience in all three disciplines.
- Ability to communicate with and collaborate with clients to define requirements for analytic applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving experience and capabilities.
- One or more vendor data-management or data-engineering certifications (relevant examples include: Snowflake Snowpro Certification, Microsoft Data Engineering or Data Analytics Certification, Qlik Business Analyst Certification, etc.)
- One or more documented examples of requirement definitions for enterprise-database or business-intelligence applications.
- Experience with estimating work efforts for development and deployment of the same applications.
- Training or experience with Agile and/or Waterfall development methodologies.
Skills and Abilities:
- Requirements documentation
- Work-effort estimation and planning
- SQL coding
- ELT development (particularly if used with cloud database management systems)
- Data profiling
- Ability to develop entity-relationship diagrams and ELT requirement documents
- Business-Intelligence development
- Familiarity with data-source connection options (API, file-base, relational databases, etc.)
