With exciting recognition comes continued growth! Our team is seeking a Business Development Manager/Senior Manager to join our team, reporting to our Director of Business Development. This pivotal role will support our expanding suite of services in DC Metro area. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities and working with prospects, primarily within the CFO and CIO’s organizations.
Position Overview:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing and nurturing client relationships, and driving the overall growth of the firm through both in-person and virtual calls and meetings. This individual will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategies that increase market presence, build partnerships, and generate revenue.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development or sales, ideally within the professional services industry. A deep understanding of client needs, strategic marketing, and relationship management will be critical to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and Generate New Business: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, cold calling, and leveraging existing client relationships.
- Client Relationship Management: (In-Person & Virtual): Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers through both in-person meetings and virtual calls (video conferences, phone calls, etc.). Foster trust and rapport with clients, ensuring high levels of engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
- Lead Sales and Marketing Efforts: Develop and execute strategies to generate leads, including attending industry events, creating targeted content in collaboration with the marketing team, and utilizing digital marketing tools.
- Proposal Development: Collaborate with internal teams to create compelling proposals and responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), tailored to client needs and aligned with the firm’s services.
- Market Analysis: Analyze industry trends, competitive landscape, and market opportunities.
- Collaboration with Delivery Teams: Work closely with internal teams (Advisory, Search, Financial Systems) to ensure alignment between client needs and the firm’s service offerings.
- Networking and Thought Leadership: Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to build relationships and increase the firm's visibility in the marketplace. Engage in thought leadership by contributing to blog posts, LinkedIn articles, and other digital content.
- Account Management: Support the transition of new clients into the firm, ensuring smooth onboarding through virtual calls and in-person meetings as needed, with clear communication throughout the process.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- 2-10 years of business development, sales, or client relationship management experience in the accounting, audit, or professional services industry.
- Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, winning new clients, and maintaining long-term client relationships.
- Proven track record of success in business development or sales roles, preferably selling to CFO and CIO organizations
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, or a related field
What you Possess:
- A roll up your sleeves approach to business development to work across the entire sales cycle to include discovery meetings, RFI/RFP development, presenting our final solutions and closing engagements.
- An eagerness to continuously learn and be part of a fast-moving practice.
- The ability to work with clients across a spectrum of mid-tier to large public companies and the ability to build strong relationships across their respective team
- Proven track record of success in generating new business and maintaining client relationships through both in-person and virtual channels (video calls, face-to-face meetings, phone calls).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to establish rapport quickly in both in-person and virtual settings.
- Strong understanding of sales principles and techniques, with excellent negotiation and closing skills
