We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Business Development Manager - Team Lead to join our team. In this role, you will act as a “player-coach.” Not only will you sell directly to customers, but you will consistently develop ways to improve the sales process and help lead others to success. You should be comfortable starting as an individual contributor, demonstrating excellence in a full sales cycle role, and gradually building out your own team of 3-5 direct reports.

Key Responsibilities
Lead from the front:
- For at least the first 3 months, work as an individual contributor and become an expert on the Lexology Pro product and our clients' challeneges
- Demonstrate success by meeting or exceeding targets during this time, with excellent execution at each stage of the funnel (full sales cycle)
- Talk to a large number of prospects & clients everyday - even after moving on from IC responsibilities
- Manage strategic opportunities within your team pipeline
Team Development:
- Train, motivate, and manage a team of 3-5
- Set clear expectations and instill accountability for team members.
Shadow phone interactions and examine sales pipeline to monitor and improve team performance. - Develop effective coaching strategies and content for team meetings and 1:1s.
- Encourage employees to contribute new ideas and solutions to problems.
- Be a respected leader while maintaining our strong sales community culture.
- Take an active role in identifying and recruiting top talent.
- Provide regular feedback on rep performance
Playbook Implementation:
- Iterate and implement on our sales playbook based on your experience in the field and what you’re hearing on other teammates’ calls
Sales Funnel Optimization:
- Identify inefficiencies and propose solutions to solve root causes
- Set SMART goals for improvement and lead efforts until that goal is met
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
You're an excellent candidate if:
- 2-4 years of direct sales experience.
- Proven ability to effectively manage a pipeline with consistent performance against various KPI’s/sales metrics.
- Have the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and autonomously manage your time.
- Comfortable and resilient in conversations with business owners from all walks of life.
- Think on your feet when faced with new challenges, tough conversations, or difficult questions.
- Always raise your personal bar. You can take feedback like a champ and implement it immediately.
- Excited about growing a team and leading a diverse group of salespeople to success!
- A Coach: you love helping others succeed and strive at pushing your team to its fullest potential.
- Experienced working in a fast paced, metrics/data-driven environment.
- Able to maintain an upbeat and positive attitude around change.
- An exceptional written and verbal communicator.
- Able to work across multiple teams.
- Analytical and data driven.
- A problem solver.
- Experienced with CRM software, preferably Salesforce.
