Job Summary and Qualifications
The Senior Business Analyst provides strategic business analysis services to business partners. The focus of this position is to review, analyze, and evaluate business systems, processes, services, in which the business operates. This role will be key to understanding the documenting capabilities needed to address business challenges and/or new system functionalities.
The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for reviewing and conducting analysis for the recommend system and business process modifications to support business strategies (end to end) through purchased or in-house developed software. Writes detailed description of business goals, user needs, computer program functions, and steps required to develop or modify applications, the creation of a support matrix and assists with the end user training documentation. This position also assists in some of the project management duties (if needed).
The Senior Business Analyst requires hands on knowledge/skills to solely perform the gathering of the requirements and documentation practices, as well as software development methodologies. Communicates requirements to software developers and assures that the designed solution will meet business and user needs. Works with business users to resolve conflicting requirements. Work with manager/project managers to develop timelines and manage project risks, assist in the development of quality assurance test plans, and help develop end user documentation. This position provides operational support for application areas of focus during the Pilot phase (direct support).

- Serve as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow.
- Must be able to develop the detailed requirements specifications according to standard templates.
- Collaborate with Developers and SMEs to establish technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
- Experience using enterprise-wide requirements definition and management systems and methodologies. Experience with Agile delivery methods is desired. Knowledge of all phases of software development including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing (integration, user, and performance), debugging, implementation, and support.
- Work directly with and serve as the liaison between business units, IT&S technology teams and support teams.
- Assist in quality assurance and defining testing strategy and risks. Provide significant contributions in the testing and debugging of new software or enhancements to existing software.
- Ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.
- Work with Business Owner(s) and other key project stakeholders to identify required changes and clearly communicate the information back to the Development team.
- Assist with the creation of the project deadlines/schedules and escalates any date slippages immediately.
- As needed, review and edit requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to the proposed solution.
- Develop and maintain the functional specifications and the system design specifications.
- Deliver informative, well-organized presentations.
- Build strong and diverse network of relationships with various stakeholder groups. Identifies impact to other solutions or projects, and works with other BAs and stakeholders to identify options and recommendations.
- Provides operational support for application area of focus, supporting the business and other IT areas by providing status and recommending solutions when there are system issues. Coordinates resolution of issues with CSS and development.
- Supports annual audit reviews (e.g. internal & external audit for application and change control, SAS70 reviews, Sarbanes Oxley, HIPAA, etc.) plus Supporting and monitoring of SLA’s.

5 or more years
