Job Description
CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join our Digital Engineering Solutions team. This individual will be a part of the Development group within the Digital Engineering Solutions team. Their responsibilities will include ensuring that business needs are translated into actionable strategies and changes that are in accordance with business objectives and customer requirements, and that processes are optimized to facilitate the delivery of projects. Additionally, they will be responsible for making strategic decisions.
As a member of the Digital Engineering Solutions team, the Development group will also engage in research and development and provide guidance and oversight to the AEC practices at CDM Smith, engaging in new product research, testing, and the incubation of innovative ideas that arise from around the company. The ideal candidate should possess an extensive background in Analyzing business processes, communicating with stakeholders, providing recommendations, identifying areas for improvement, along with a commitment to continuous advancement and interest that drives measurable results.
The following are the Key responsibilities for this position
• Collaborating closely with higher management and stakeholders to collect both functional and non-functional requirements.
• Engage in gathering and evaluating information from multiple sources
• Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, or redundancies in the streamlining of workflows by mapping out current business processes using flowcharts or diagrams to visualize how tasks are conducted.
• Ensure that functional requirements capture and are in line with business needs by bridging the gap between Development and Business teams.
• Technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills are necessary for roles involving stakeholder management and communication.
• creates training materials and user manuals to assist employees in adapting to new procedures or systems, as well as Holding training sessions guarantees that staff members are competent and ready to use the new solution.
• identifying areas for development and assisting the project team in anticipating potential challenges, thereby allowing them to respond proactively.
• Proactively addressing potential problems helps businesses to implement changes more smoothly.
• Helps prevent scope creep, where unplanned features are added without proper evaluation, potentially derailing the project timeline and budget.
• Establishing a culture of continuous improvement motivates businesses to adjust to shifting consumer demands and market realities.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• 5 years of related experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
