Remote Role
The Senior Business Analyst will be held accountable to the following responsibilities:
Advanced Requirements Management:
- Act as a strategic partner to business units by eliciting, analysing, prioritizing, and documenting complex business requirements for the Transportation project that contribute to CPS's mission.
- Ensure solutions are technically sound and align with CPS's broader goals, including the 5-Year Plan and other strategic initiatives
- Serve as a key point of contact between the Transportation team and ITS project teams, ensuring that stakeholder needs are met while aligning projects with CPS's district-wide objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with CPS leadership and the Transportation team, facilitating ongoing communication and problem-solving.
- Facilitate the creation of detailed business cases, cost-benefit analyses, process flow diagrams, and options evaluations to support strategic decision-making at CPS.
- Engage leadership in validating and approving requirements to ensure satisfaction and value delivery.
- Monitor testing and validation processes to ensure that all solutions meet agreed upon requirements and are thoroughly vetted before implementation.
- Own the documentation of critical business processes, process flow diagrams, requirements, and lessons learned, ensuring that CPS benefits from ongoing process improvements and knowledge transfer.
- Complete onboarding and training, including any certification requirements, to achieve business analysis certification if not already achieved.
- Participate in weekly check-ins with the Manager of, IT Business Partnership to report on progress, challenges, and accomplishments.
- Provide weekly progress reports on all projects, including time spent, challenges encountered, and status updates.
- Establish strong relationships with business units to enhance collaboration and ensure alignment with CPS-specific tools and practices.
- Business Case to support strategic decision-making.
- Requirements Traceability Matrix ensuring that all business needs are met.
- Stakeholder Analysis and Risk Assessments to manage project complexity.
- Business Process Models and Data Flow Diagrams to ensure a clear understanding of processes and integrations.
- Test Plans to help ensure the successful implementation of the software
Type of Education Required:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in business analysis, preferably within the public sector or large institutions.
- 5+ years of experience in information technology, preferably within the public sector or large institutions.
- 5+ years of experience with transportation industry, preferably within the public sector.
- Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and Cross functional teams.
- Proficiency in developing business cases, conducting feasibility studies, and facilitating project documentation.
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or equivalent certification.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business terms
- Very strong writing abilities
- Very strong ability to create presentations with a quality design
- Expertise in Google Suite
- Expertise in business analysis tools (e.g., process modelling, requirements documentation, project management software)
- Ability to handle competing priorities and ensure on-time project delivery
- Familiarity with IT project management methodologies (e.g., Agile)
