Senior Budget Analyst
Position Overview: The Senior Budget Analyst will lead and oversee the financial management of government and foundation grants. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role is responsible for ensuring compliance with grant regulations, preparing detailed financial reports, and managing grant budgets. The position requires strong leadership capabilities and prior management or supervisory experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the review, monitoring, and reporting of assigned government and foundation grants.
- Provide strategic direction and mentorship to junior finance team members.
- Develop and present detailed financial analyses, including budget-to-actual reports and grant billing.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of grant budgets, billings, and modifications.
- Collaborate with program staff to ensure adherence to grant spending requirements and regulations.
- Lead efforts in reconciling deferred revenue, grant receivables, and managing collections.
- Support fiscal compliance and grant audits, ensuring all processes align with laws and regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in grant-related laws and nonprofit accounting principles.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related field (or substantial relevant experience).
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial management, including 1+ years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines effectively.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with nonprofit accounting and Uniform Grant Guidance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced coursework in accounting or related disciplines.
