About the Job
Bergmann, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, is looking to expand our Bridges & Structures team in Ohio by adding Senior Bridge Project Engineers with prior ODOT experience! Candidates may be located anywhere in Ohio.
As a leader in keeping our nation's bridges safe and functional, our bridge engineers leverage years of design experience across a broad range of bridge types and sizes. From inspection and load rating of existing structures to the design of new complex structures, Bergmann is improving bridges while reducing the long-term cost of maintaining these critical assets. Our professionals also understand that bridge solutions need to meet cost and schedule requirements.
Responsibilities:- Apply diversified engineering principles and practices to our bridge engineering operations in Ohio
- Position includes design work as well as client-facing interactions with a potential for some business development and project manager responsibilities
- Perform QA/QC on drawings from drafters, designers, and/or design engineers on project
- Perform the duties of a Project Engineer
- May serve as the contact for client, other design professionals, and contractors
- May act as quality coordinator for discipline led projects
- May serve on professional association committees for establishment of policies, standards, procedures, and research at a local, state, or national level
- May stamp/sign drawings or reports and/or serve as Engineer of Record for the project
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required
- Preferably 7+ years' experience in Bridge Engineering
- MicroStation and OpenRoads experience
- Ability to mentor and coach junior team members
- Communication skills are a must
- Civil 3D experience is a plus
- Registered as a PE is preferred
- Willing to work independently and with others as a team member
