Bergmann, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, is currently seeking Senior Bridge Engineers to join our team in Lansing, MI! This opportunity is perfect for someone who is looking to grow in their career and take on exciting new challenges.
Bridges are an integral part of our transportation system. We employ nationally recognized design engineers and professionals with extensive experience in both maintenance and rehabilitation. Our professionals understand the needs of our clients because many of them come from the industry, including state DOTs (Department of Transportation), Class 1 railroads and members of national boards and technical committees.
Responsibilities:- Apply diversified engineering principles and practices to our bridge engineering operations in Michigan and Ohio
- Includes design work and may include some opportunities for client-facing interaction
- Assist in the development of designs for bridge projects
- Participate in the interpretation, update, and/or creation of Standards of Practice
- Perform QA/QC on drawings from drafters, designers, and/or design engineers on project
- May serve as Bergmann contact for client, other design professionals, and contractors
- May act as quality coordinator for discipline led projects
- May serve on professional association committees for establishment of policies, standards, procedures, and research at a local, state, or national level
- May stamp/sign drawings or reports and/or serve as Engineer of Record for the project
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required
- Prior DOT experience highly preferred
- 2 or more years of bridge design/engineering experience preferred
- Previous MicroStation, Midas Civil and LEAP Bridge experience
- Willing to work independently and with others as a team member
- Interested in learning and applying feedback
- Communication skills are a must
- Civil 3D experience is a plus
