Position Summary
- The Hiring Manager will also consider candidates for Billing SpecialistI (F07) or Billing Specialist II (F08). Level of position offered will be based upon the depth and breadth of selected candidate's experience and qualifications.
Under little supervision, supports assigned billing area with various operational tasks. Responds to inquiries from employees, business partners, management, outside vendors, and agents.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Handles various inquiries related to billing, including acting as a liaison between employees, agents, business partners, management, outside vendors, and agents. Investigates complex issues and consults with management as necessary.
- Performs complex policy accounting and billing functions which may include analysis of reports, research on various systems, identification of variances and interpretation of error handling.
- Coordinates the assignment of production work, completes procedural documentation, assists with implementation and training of new or revised programs or procedures. Acts as a team mentor, SME and role model to peers. Performs system testing as required.
- Validates electronic output for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintains a working knowledge of ERIE's billing function related to guidelines and programs, including multiple ERIE policy systems and billing systems. Assists analysts with procedural changes and improvements.
- Assist supervisor with special assignments as directed. Prepares various reports and performs special projects as directed.

Qualifications
Minimum Required Education Equivalents:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; or
- Associatesdegreeinaccounting,finance,orrelatedfield and two years' experience in a billing environment required;or
- High school diploma or equivalent and four years' experience in a billing environment required.
Additional Experience
- Working knowledge of processing and spreadsheet software required.
- Experience with ERIE's management software preferred.
