Our client is a prominent medical association dedicated to advancing cancer research and care. They are seeking a Benefits Manager to manage all aspects of benefits administration, interfacing with employees, HR partners, and third-party vendors to ensure high-quality service and compliance.
Job Description:
This role involves managing employee benefits programs, providing guidance to staff, and working with external partners to ensure a seamless benefits experience. The ideal candidate will exhibit a high degree of empathy, customer service, and attention to detail, in line with the organization’s “high-touch” HR philosophy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee employee benefits programs including health, vision, dental insurance, 401(k), and flexible spending accounts.
- Act as the primary contact for benefits inquiries, offering clear guidance on employee options and regulations.
- Manage relationships with brokers, vendors, and external administrators to monitor and ensure service quality.
- Ensure compliance with regulations such as ERISA, FMLA, and HIPAA, conducting audits and required testing.
- Conduct benefits education, training sessions, and employee engagement events.
- Supervise benefits team members and provide back-up support as needed.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in benefits administration, including handling retirement plans and health benefits.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (experience with Workday is a plus).
- Strong communication and customer service skills with experience managing relationships with third-party vendors.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, PHI, and multi-state benefits administration.
