Position Overview: The Senior Benefits Account Executive is responsible for providing prompt, accurate and courteous service to clients, producers, and fellow team members. The Senior Benefits Account Executive is the day to day, first line customer contact who services benefit inquiries and resolves day-to-day client requests. In this role, you will quickly identify the necessary action and problem solve how best to meet the client needs. Working with large groups, this position is responsible for collaborating with the assigned producer and facilitating the overall strategic management, service, and retention of assigned clients.
Work Arrangement: This is a hybrid position working in our office in Melville, NY. The Senior Benefits Account Executive may be expected to travel and be present for staff and client meetings, as requested.
Professional Responsibilities:
- Lead, strategize, and optimize a portfolio of key client accounts, ensuring high retention and expansion of business relationships. Analyze employee benefit products and recommend solutions to clients.
- Provide expert analysis of complex employee benefit products, recommending advanced, tailored solutions to meet diverse client needs.
- Develop and deliver high-impact renewal presentations, utilizing formats and strategies aligned with the seniority of the client and their business goals. Research and keep up to date with carrier product portfolios.
- Stay ahead of industry trends by continuously researching and analyzing carrier product portfolios, advising clients on new opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative and growth-oriented culture, actively contributing to the team’s professional development and organizational success.
- Lead and facilitate educational sessions for clients and employees, including at Open Enrollment and on specialized topics, offering strategic guidance.
- Advise on the administration of benefit plans, including alternative funding options (HRA, HSA), compliance strategies, and regulatory updates.
- Ensure timely and comprehensive responses to client and employee inquiries related to Open Enrollment, benefits compliance, legislative changes, and emerging trends.
- Serve as a trusted consultant for clients, offering expert guidance on employee benefits programs, addressing complex and high-level inquiries.
- Oversee complex claim/billing resolution processes, collaborating with clients, employees, and insurance carriers to ensure efficient outcomes.
- Act as a key client liaison with Third Party Administrators, including advanced programs like Flexible Spending Accounts, Self-Funded Dental, and COBRA, driving client satisfaction.
- Provide leadership in managing the enrollment process, offering expert advice on eligibility, qualifying events, terminations, and plan design.
- Deliver exceptional service with a proactive, solution-oriented approach to managing, expanding, and servicing high-profile accounts.
- Take charge of continuous professional development, participating in advanced seminars, certifications, and industry-leading programs to enhance skills and expertise. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Valid NY State Health and Life Insurance license required.
- Five years of large group employee benefits insurance experience at an independent agency.
- High school diploma or equivalent degree, college degree preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
- Proficient with use of Microsoft Office Suite and products.
- A passion for being part of a team that drives our company to industry leadership.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both peers and clients.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Pay Range: $125,000 - $140,000 depending on experience
A wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the required state pay transparency law. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
