About the Job
The primary responsibility of the Senior Behavior Support Specialist is to provide family oriented, individual and/or group rehabilitative mental health services, skills training and development, medication training, parenting skills training, and intensive case management and support services to clients of the agency per state specified standards and requirements. The Senior Behavior Support Specialist is responsible for the direct provision of in-home and community-based rehabilitation and support services to participating youth and families. These services are typically provided to consumers in their homes, communities and/or program sites. Additionally, this role will include mentoring Behavior Support Specialists that are new to Arrow by providing training and shadowing opportunities.

Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
- Conduct regularly scheduled client visits in the home and community.
- Provide trauma informed services to all clients and families.
- Provide support services in accordance with the client’s Individualized Treatment Plan.
- Provide services in accordance with program specified curriculums.
- Document the provision of all services in Arrow’s electronic client record and in accordance with Arrow and payor standards.
- Document services provided with the understanding that all clinical notations are considered legal documents and can be used in a court of law. All documentation should be true and accurate and under no circumstance falsified in any manner.
- Participate in ongoing trainings and supervisions.
- Provide crisis intervention to family 24/7 as needed.
- Participate in an on-call rotation with other team members as indicated by program.
- Maintain a manageable caseload to ensure outcomes and practice requirements are met while taking into consideration the level of care of clients served.
- Completes and maintains CANS certification.
- Provide guidance and support to new Behavior Support Specialists in Arrow.
- Perform all duties within contract, state and federal regulations, company policy, and regulatory agency standards.
- May be required to drive vehicles, be insurable with our auto insurance provider, and complete company vehicle training.
Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health or another related Human Services field and at least one (1) year of previous experience working in Behavioral Health Services at Arrow as a Behavior Support Specialist. Proven experience in meeting Behavior Support Specialist job requirements and helping to mentor new staff.
