Job Description
CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Azure Architect. This individual designs and implements secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud architectures within the Azure environment. Develop solutions and road maps to align cloud infrastructure with current and future business and IT strategies. Leads the migration of workloads to Azure, ensuring adherence to best practices for performance, security, and cost optimization. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to design and review cloud-based solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and business goals. Implement automation, security controls, and monitoring solutions to enhance operational efficiency and maintain compliance. Provides technical expertise in Azure technologies to drive innovation and meet organizational objectives.
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud environments in Azure, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Manage Azure IaaS and PaaS services including virtual networks, VMs, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and storage solutions.
• Implement and manage security controls in Azure, including Azure Security Center, role-based access control (RBAC), Azure AD, and data protection strategies.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins. Automate infrastructure provisioning with PowerShell, ARM templates, Bicep, and Terraform.
• Lead or support the migration of on-premises workloads to Azure using Azure Migrate, applying best practices for workload rehosting, refactoring, or rearchitecting.
• Use Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights to ensure optimal cloud performance, proactively addressing issues and minimizing downtime.
• Configure and manage Azure networking components (VNETs, VPN gateways, load balancers, DNS) and optimize network security with Azure Firewall and Application Gateway.
• Design and implement disaster recovery and backup solutions using Azure Site Recovery (ASR) and Azure Backup, ensuring business continuity.
Work closely with development, security, and infrastructure teams to deliver cloud solutions, provide expert advice, and troubleshoot issues.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree.
• 6 years of related experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
