Senior Automation Engineer - DevOps - Maximus

MAXIMUS IT is looking for technical candidates who are passionate about all things DevSecOps. Individuals must be able to affect change, be proactive, and be passionate about making our development lifecycle as efficient as possible by implementing and evolving DevSecOps practices at Maximus. This candidate will need to have a fervor for empowering support, development, and product teams to help set the company up for success!

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Develop solutions to allow developers to build, test, and deploy in Maximus AWS cloud environments while controlling corporate costs.
• Contribute to CI/CD shared libraries pipeline.
• Design and implement highly available and scalable architectures in dynamic, fast-growing environments.
• Ensure scalable, secure, redundant, distributed AWS cloud environment systems.
• Integrate and implement best practices and DevSecOps methodologies in every step of the engineering process.
• Assist teams in implementing test-driven development practices.
• Orchestrate frameworks for software deployments for prod and non-prod environments.
• Take ownership of automation improvements, problem resolution, and root cause analysis.
• Work with various team members to resolve outages or other issues.
• Enable systems with automated testing, monitoring, and alerting.
• Support and maintain compliance with security and privacy standards.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to other team members.
• Ability use remote collaboration software. Teams, Zoom, Slack
• Develop and maintain documentation.
• Ability to communication to large technically diverse audiences.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to other team members.

Minimum Requirements

- Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Education/Requirements:

• Minimum of 6 years of related experience or 4 years with a Bachelor's degree; or 2 years with a Master's degree.
• DevOps experience coming from AWS/Azure Cloud/Windows/Linux infrastructure environment.
• Proven experience in developing CI/CD pipelines and creating automated processes.
• Able to be a subject matter expert on multiple opensource opensource.
• Experience managing and administering cloud infrastructure within AWS/Azure.
• Hands-on programming expert with at least two languages, Java, Groovy, Bash, Ruby, Python, NodeJS, Golang, and/or PowerShell. OOP Preferred.
• Experience with continuous integration and build management tools like Git and Jenkins.
• Familiar with security concerns (server hardening, two-factor authentication, SSL, VPN)
• Knowledgeable in distributed systems and redundancy, high-availability and performance optimizations.
• Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodologies.
• Must be a self-starter and possess excellent analytical skills.
• Possesses the ability to work in an agile environment with minimum guidance.
• Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills and interacts professionally with diverse developers, product owners, and subject matter experts.
• Ability to drive to big picture goals and milestones while valuing and maintaining strong attention to detail
• Ability to quickly identify and drive to the optimal solution when presented with a series of constraints
• Excellent judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated individual that possesses excellent time management and organizational skills
• Should have a strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high-quality work.
• In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, AWS/Azure. Ability to write Docker files and Kubernetes YAML definitions, Terraform and Helm Charts.
• Expert in Ansible. You should be able to write automation playbooks for Ansible. Preferred
• Well-versed in Linux compute, networking, storage, and DB's (SQL and NoSQL).
• You should have a working knowledge of Kubernetes, Terraform, and Jenkins administration. Required
• You should have a working knowledge of GitHub, Maven, Gradle. Required
• Willingness to support a DevOps team (24X7 accessibility for emergency issues on a rotating basis)

Pay Transparency

Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances.
