About the Role
The Senior Accounting Associate will serve as the lead senior associate on engagements, managing teams of 1 to 5 staff, some of whom may be remote. This individual will be the primary point of contact with client leadership and will be responsible for leading staff on priority engagements with complex financial operations. This role requires proactive leadership, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to meet deadlines consistently. Occasional travel may be required for specific client engagements.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage staff on accounting engagements with teams of up to 5 staff, both in-office and remote.
- Serve as the primary contact with clients, ensuring their needs are met with timely and accurate financial solutions.
- Oversee and review the work of staff, ensuring the application of accounting principles and compliance with relevant standards.
- Manage, coordinate, and execute engagements from start to finish, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Provide hands-on support with client work while leading the team through complex accounting tasks and deliverables.
- Maintain strong internal communication with colleagues, managers, directors and partners to ensure a seamless workflow.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance team efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Travel occasionally for in-person meetings or specific client engagements as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (required).
- CPA license or actively pursuing licensure (strongly preferred).
- Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, with at least 1 year of client-facing or similar work. Experience leading or managing a team of staff members on client engagements strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to be the primary client contact, working directly with client leadership on financial matters.
- Exceptional knowledge and application of accounting principles and theory, with the ability to oversee complex engagements.
- Experience in QuickBooks or equivalent accounting software (required). Experience with multiple ERPs is a plus.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings or engagements.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.
- Proactive self-starter capable of working independently and leading others with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex financial information to clients and team members confidently and concisely.
