Senior Architectural Designer - Amy Zimmerman and Associates

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Senior Architectural Designer to join our client's team and contribute to their dynamic retail development projects. This key role reports to the design director, project director, and creative lead on projects. The designer blends aesthetic and functional considerations to align with our firm's visionary design ethos.

The ideal candidate will possess a professional degree from an NAAB-accredited architecture school and demonstrate a commitment to obtaining licensure as an architect. We value candidates with 8 to 10 years of professional experience, particularly in retail projects. LEED or similar accreditation is preferred, and candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

As a Senior Architectural Designer, you will generate innovative conceptual solutions and advance them through schematic and design development phases. Your role will require a deep understanding of retail architecture to meet industry-specific requirements. You should exhibit creativity, foresight, and sound architectural judgment in developing solutions and possess strong SketchUp, Revit, Rhino, and Adobe Suite skills.

Your responsibilities will also include coordinating design efforts with consultants and other disciplines, researching and selecting building products, composing written specifications, and participating actively in project meetings. We expect you to contribute to quality assurance/quality control reviews at project milestones and stay informed of new systems, methods, and sustainable practices.
