About the Job
We have a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity for a Senior Architectural Designer who will lead the design and execution of various projects, transforming client visions into stunning, functional spaces. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in architectural design, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for excellence. As a Senior Architectural Designer, you will provide comprehensive design services, foster strong client relationships, and represent our firm in municipal meetings, contributing to our reputation for delivering exceptional architectural solutions.
Location:
- This position can be based in Tampa, FL; Charlotte, NC; or Philadelphia, PA.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the schematic design phase for a variety of projects, including single-family homes, multi-family buildings, and commercial/mixed-use developments.
- Collaborate closely with clients to understand their vision, needs, and budget, translating these into creative and functional design solutions.
- Develop detailed architectural designs using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.
- Stay current with industry trends, materials, and technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into designs.
- Effectively manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and within-budget project delivery.
- Assist production staff in resolving project design issues.
- Participate in new business development opportunities to contribute to the firm's growth and expansion.
- Mentor and guide junior designers, providing constructive feedback and fostering their professional development.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Architecture or equivalent; Licensed Architect preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in residential architectural design, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Expertise in hand-drawing, 3D visualization, and graphic presentation software, showcasing the ability to effectively communicate design concepts.
- Proficiency in modeling using Revit and SketchUp, with a willingness to adapt and learn new software options as needed.
- Ability to work on a diverse range of project types, building typologies, and architectural styles, demonstrating adaptability and creativity.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and independent thinking, with a proactive approach and strong follow-through on tasks and challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration with clients and team members to achieve project objectives.
- Comfort in making presentations to staff, clients, and governing bodies, effectively articulating design concepts and project details.
- In-depth knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, and construction standards, ensuring compliance and quality in design solutions.
- Understanding of site planning concepts and design standards, integrating site considerations seamlessly into architectural designs.
