About the Job
Maximus is seeking a Lead Application Developer to become an integral part of our Energy and Critical Infrastructure team. This position leads development, modernization, and enhancements for an essential budget and workforce management system. This position works closely with a dedicated business analyst and program manager to support the full systems development lifecycle (SDLC) for a Federal Health and Research agency. This position interacts with government product owners, stakeholders, and adjacent development teams on a frequent basis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Understand client requirements and how they translate in application features.
• Collaborate with a team of IT professionals to set specifications for new development, modernization, and enhancement.
• Design creative prototypes according to user requirements and specifications.
• Apply professional experience and training in information technology and computer programming to the analysis, design, modification, and maintenance of application programs, integrated systems, and/or software solutions.
• Write high quality source code to program complete applications within deadlines; perform unit and integration testing; conduct functional and non-functional testing.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications. Evaluate existing applications to reprogram, update and add new features. Develop technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent application design and code.
Required Skills:
• This position requires a government sponsored Public Trust clearance. Due to federal requirements, candidates must be US Citizens to be considered for this position.
• University degree (BA/BS) in a closely related field (Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems)
• 5 years demonstrated experience as a software developer, engineer, or closely related field
Desired Skills:
• Full stack development experience in languages including: C#, Java, ColdFusion, .NET, Spring, PHP, React, and Angular
• Demonstrated experience with common database and data frameworks including SQL, Oracle, and/or MySQL. Demonstrated experience is defined as developing extract, transform, load (ETL) processes, data cleaning, data validation, and related functions.
• Previous experience supporting federal health and research agencies like HHS and/or NIH.
• Certifications such as Scaled Agile Framework, PMI-ACP, TOGAF, or closely related certifications.
• Previous experience as a software developer, solutions architect, or closely related role supporting the full SDLC for business-critical applications.

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards.
