The Senior Analytics Engineer oversees the administration and application of analytical data and reporting for the organization to provide actionable insights and predictive models. By combining technical skills with business knowledge, this role focuses on transforming, modeling, and maintaining data and processes to support analytical functions and corporate strategy.
A typical day might include the following
- Oversees analytical data to ensure data integrity and availability, in partnership with Enterprise Data leadership and data engineering team.
- Maintains and optimizes member-centric analytics data model to support strategic business use cases.
- Develops, maintains, and enforces documentation, procedures, and adherence to standards including code reviews and best practices.
- Understands business objectives, needs, and requirements and effectively translates these into technical requirements.
- Manages data business rule definition, implementation, and maintenance and enforces uniform application throughout analytical functions.
- Oversees change tracking, testing, source control and continuous integration/deployment for analytical data.
- Develops data sets and processes to support data science models and other analytical functions.
- Participates in Data Governance Council and works closely with Information Security and Enterprise Data leadership to ensure adherence to data security and governance policies and protocols.
- Serves as a consultant to the Analytics, IT, and project teams regarding data availability, structure, business rules, system optimization, and development of new data pipelines and processes.
- Contributes towards developing and driving the data analytics roadmap to create long-term value for the organization.
- Leads discovery and request for proposals for best-in-class data analytics platforms and solutions. Influences and promotes the best data solutions for productivity, stability, and growth of the business.
- Plans for enhancing and enriching analytical data model structure and sources to maximize value creation.
- Manages and prioritizes process improvement opportunities for optimizing and fully leveraging analytical data structure with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Proactively stays informed of industry trends and best practices.
- Leads and develops the team by measuring progress and by providing coaching, counseling, and training.
- Assists the team with escalated questions and issues using critical thinking skills to offer innovative and effective solutions.
- Promotes a data-driven culture and facilitates expanding data fluency across the organization.

Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field Required
- Master's Degree Preferred.
Experience
- 5 to 8 years of similar or related experience. of similar or related data analytics experience Required
- Previous experience in the financial industry preferred. Additional experience in data science, computer science, or corporate finance a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of data management and analytical engineering best practices. Snowflake experience highly preferred.
- Highly competent with Structured Query Language (SQL), coding languages (e.g., R, Python) and source control tools (e.g., GIT, TFS).
- Experience with data modeling tools and optimization (e.g. ERWin, etc.) and cloud platforms (e.g. Microsoft Azure).
- Strong analytical aptitude, problem solving, and attention to detail. Agile/Lean/SAFe methodology experience preferred.
- Creative and innovative thinking, business acumen, and ability to identify interdependencies and connections.
- Collaborative leadership with forward-thinking abilities. High tolerance for nuance and ambiguity.
