Description
Noblis is seeking Senior Aeronautical Engineers to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Air Traffic Systems and Surveillance Services directorates within the Program Management Organization (PMO). Employees will apply specialized experience to a range of aerospace activities and issues, demonstrating functional knowledge of air traffic management programs and system operations. Your efforts will contribute to developing and implementing new systems that improve the safety, efficiency, and capacity of air traffic management.
Responsibilities
- Apply intensive and specialized experience to a breadth of aerospace activities and related issues.
- Demonstrate functional knowledge of air traffic management programs and system operations.
- Integrate multiple stakeholder interests to address complex technical and programmatic aviation issues.
- Integrate advanced algorithms and data analytics to optimize traffic management.
- Contribute to the design, development, and deployment of new systems that enhance terminal operations, improve safety, and reduce delays.
- Perform specialty engineering activities to analyze complex datasets using custom software applications.
- Develop, coordinate, and apply solutions relevant to successful program implementation.
- Design and evaluate components and systems for aircraft, ensuring adherence to engineering principles and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct experimental tests, analyze data, and prepare detailed reports on findings and project progress.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to identify and solve complex aeronautical issues.
- Maintain and improve existing engineering processes by incorporating new technologies and methodologies.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including formal test plans, reports, and other associated documentation in support of ground and flight testing for various aircraft configurations.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and other team members.

- Successfully pass an FAA background investigation/verification and receive a successful final suitability determination.
- Strong understanding of aerospace system components, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools and systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in team-based environments and manage time across multiple projects.
Educational and Experience Requirements
Work experience that is not relevant to the labor category definition will not be considered in the "Years of Relevant Experience" calculation.
Senior-level
- Doctorate degree in a specialized discipline with minimum of 20 years’ experience in aeronautical engineering or related technical field.
- Master’s degree with 25 years of experience in aeronautical engineering or related technical field.
- Bachelor's degree with 30 years of experience in aeronautical engineering or related technical field.
- Compensation Ranges - Oklahoma: $118,800 - $204,030
Desired Qualifications:
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with aircraft sizing and performance analysis/optimization.
- Proficiency in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and wind tunnel testing.
- Familiarity with FAA regulations and standards.
- Ability to integrate new technologies and methodologies to enhance production efficiency and product quality
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; Proactive, solution-oriented, with exceptional time management skills.
- FAA experience highly desired.
Locations may vary depending on location of the project. Some primary on-site locations include: Washington D.C., Egg Harbor NJ, and Oklahoma City OK.
Possibility of some roles allowing for remote/hybrid employment.
All roles require U.S. citizenship or green card permanent resident who has resided in the U.S. for 3+ years

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.
