Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Senior Advanced SONAR Test Engineer to join our dynamic team. We lead the charge in US NAVY VIRGINIA Submarine Weapons System Accuracy Trials (WSAT) test planning, execution, and report generation, as well as Submarine Test and Evaluation (T&E) support and data collection. Our dedicated T&E Team collaborates closely with the NAVY, Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport, RI (NUWCDIVNPT) to ensure the fleet assets are tested and battle ready.
Additionally, the candidate should be a US NAVY Submarine retired SONAR rate E7 or above.

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
- Plans the technical approach, resources, schedule, budget, and equipment required for testing.
- Evaluating new SONAR systems, products, and special devices
- Travel is required roughly 20% of the time.
- Perform technical writing to include test procedures, plans and reports.
- Support various working groups and meetings.
- Capability to plan, test and report results of SONAR and other related systems onboard US NAVY Submarines in accordance with manufacturing and government specifications.
- Considered expert in SONAR field within the organization.
What sets you apart:
- Proficiency in SONAR software testing and analysis.
- 10-15 years of experience with AN/BQQ-10 Submarine SONAR Systems
- VIRGINIA Class Submarine Operational experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- General knowledge of network configurations, operations, and commands.
- US Navy SONAR Submarine experience is required.
- Requirement to support at-sea US NAVY platform testing.
- Passport for foreign travel.
- Currently hold or have the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
- Ability to work independently with US NAVY fleet personnel without supervision.
