We are looking for an SeniorAdvanced Manufacturing Engineer join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to Sr. Director, Advance Automation and based in San Jose, California. This is a fully on-site, in office role.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Be the technical leader that integrates our mature Bloom Energy process nodes into a scalable, highly automated and Industry 4.0 compliant manufacturing solution.
- Align the R&D and Mfg. Engineering teams on a cohesive manufacturing strategy that meets the needs of all stakeholders
- Work with Bloom Energy’s experts to select the best suppliers for the process node equipment, material movement automation, metrology and IT infrastructure that meets our cost, throughput and quality needs
- Use broad advanced automation experience to identify and evaluate Proof of Concepts that deliver our process requirements meeting the UPH, capex and throughput per sqft requirements as set forward by the management
- Oversee some design an integrated smart manufacturing data collection and processing platform to drastically reduce our dependency on direct and indirect labor
- Lead the effort to engineer, develop, budget and deliver a pilot platform that demonstrates clear scalability in a matrix format as needed.
- Lead the debugging of the pilot line till it meets the yield, cost and throughput requirements. Prepare all the documentation needed for a smooth and fast high-volume roll-out of the integrated manufacturing solution.
Skills and Experience:
- 4 yrs of relevant automation experience
- 4 yrs of experience, Tesla and design / deploy full automated battery line from scratch manufacturability, debugging for high volume purposes
- Demonstrated team building and leadership skills.
- Manage diverse, simultaneous projects of varying complexities.
- Deeply familiar with the diverse and global capex supplier base for automation, screen printing, precision placement and high temperature processing
- Experienced in creating business proposals for > $100M projects that requiring board approval
- Led multiple projects involving integrating metrology and data collection in fully automated production lines. Knowledgeable on Industry 4.0 ready software architectures and solutions.
