Overview:
Join our dynamic Finance team as a Senior Administrator specializing in Accounting. As a crucial member of our department, you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing the management of various funds and accounts within our school system. This position offers a hybrid telework workweek option, allowing for flexibility and work-life balance.
Position Purpose:
As a Senior Administrator, you will lead a team responsible for maintaining, coordinating, and reviewing financial activities. Collaborating closely with the Senior Director, you'll assist in shaping and implementing financial policies and procedures. Your keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills will be instrumental in preparing financial reports and schedules, ensuring accurate and timely financial information. Additionally, you'll play a key role in preparing for our annual audit, contributing to the smooth operation of our financial processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Extensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as Google Apps.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Ability to establish and implement standard accounting procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build strong working relationships.
Education, Training, and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or related field.
- Three years of experience in accounting or related field, including one year of supervisory experience.
- Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Oracle financial applications.
- Knowledge of governmental accounting principles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise the maintenance of funds and accounts, overseeing subordinate staff.
- Assist in formulating and administering financial policies and procedures.
- Prepare and review financial schedules and analyses for monitoring and reporting.
- Facilitate annual audit preparation.
- Provide accounting and finance training to stakeholders.
- Monitor cash flow and investment performance.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide guidance to staff.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
This role operates in a professional office and school environment. While primarily sedentary, occasional interaction with various stakeholders may be required. The position involves light physical work.
