As the Senior Accounts Payable Specialist, you’ll be a key contributor to the financial operations team, ensuring efficient, accurate, and timely management of the accounts payable process along with additional accounts payable analyst functions as well. If you enjoy streamlining processes, collaborating with a driven team, and maintaining excellent vendor relationships, this role is for you.
Hybrid Schedule: This position offers 3 remote workdays and 2 in-office days in the WNY area.
Responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices, issue payments (checks, ACH, credit card), and audit documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.
- Prepare account reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and support month-end reporting activities to ensure accurate financial records.
- Act as the main point of contact for vendors regarding payment inquiries, outstanding invoices, and payment discrepancies, maintaining positive working relationships.
- Manage abandoned property compliance by issuing vendor notices, reissuing voided payments, and ensuring adherence to state regulations.
- Review, prepare, and process recurring invoices and ensure all payments align with company standards and deadlines.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of professional experience in accounts payable or general accounting, with familiarity in general ledger reconciliation and process optimization.
- Accounts Payable Analyst experience is a plus.
- Associate's degree in Accounting or a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
