System One is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to perform a variety of routine accounting functions under general supervision and in accordance with standard procedure. The successful incumbent will effectively confer with managerial or technical personnel, other departments, or contractors to resolve problems. The AP Clerk position requires proficiency in transactional business processes, with a heavy emphasis in Accounts Payable.

Pay rate range: $26 - $28/hr. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Work schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST

Responsibilities:
-
Receiving and reviewing incoming invoices for accuracy, including verifying quantities, prices, and purchase orders

Entering invoice data into accounting system, including vendor information, invoice amounts, and relevant codes.

Matching invoices to purchase orders to ensure proper authorization and prevent duplicate payments.

Contacting vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies or request clarification on billing issues.

Preparing and submitting payment batching to vendors according to payment terms.

Reconciling vendor statements with company’s accounts payable ledger to identify discrepancies.

Maintaining organized records of invoices, payment documents, and vendor information.

Ensure setup of business processes in order to meet contractual obligations.

Research source documents and prepare simple accounting reports.

Reply to assigned queries correctly, efficiently and communicates in a timely manner.

Develop and maintain positive working relationships with department, Project Managers, and internal/external clients.

Perform general office activities such as operating office equipment, processing mail, or securing confidential materials.

Ensure proper documentation of all business processes by sorting and/or classifying information according to enterprise record retention guidelines.

Work closely with IT on problem recognition, resolutions, enhancements, testing, and data verification.

Complete special projects as required by manager.
Job Requirements:

Must have high school diploma or equivalent
-
Minimum of three years of relevant accounting experience in lieu of a college degree

Experience with batch reviewing, letters of credit, or auditing

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

Strong written and verbal communication

Experience using general office equipment and computer programs

Deadline driven

Excellent attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
-
5 years or more of Accounts Receivable work experience

Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
-
Adaptable and works well in a fast-paced environment

Experience working in the construction industry
Physical Demands:
An employee in this role will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, and through email and will be required to view a computer monitor for long periods of time with breaks in-between. Carrying, lifting or moving objects up to 25lbs safely may also be required. An employee in this role should be capable of operating and functioning in an office-based work environment and may occasionally be required to visit job sites or other office locations.
Work Environment:
Work will be in a corporate office environment operating and functioning at a fast pace. Working out of contemporary open workspaces, and various conference rooms when collaborating with team members. Our corporate campus includes an on-site café with various daily breakfast, lunch and snack-time selections, a sizeable fitness center equipped with various state of the art workout equipment & weights, outdoor walking/jogging-path, herb garden, basketball half-court, sand-volleyball court, soccer field.
