Senior Accountant at Creative Financial Staffing

CFS has partnered with a growing company in Grand Rapids that's looking to hire a Senior Accountant. Our client is located throughout the Midwest and continues to grow and gain more presence throughout the area. The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller and will be responsible for managing the company’s financial records, preparing financial statements, and providing financial analysis. Our client is an ESOP company that offers competitive benefits, flexibility and growth opportunities.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities:

• General Ledger
• Payroll processing
• Bank reconciliation
• Produce standard and adjusting journal entries in accordance with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
• Investigate and resolve issues that arise during the monthly review process.
• Analyze financial data and assist with forecasting.
• Prepare monthly sales and use tax filings.
• Assist tracking and recording of fixed asset records.
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed or requested.

Senior Accountant Education and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree
• 4+ years of experience in a financial accounting role.
• Masters Degree or CPA (plus)
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy and integrity in all areas.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Initiative to search out tasks and seek improvements without direct supervision.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and working as part of a team.
