A tech company in Ventura is looking for a Senior Accountant to add to their team. Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for month-end close, inventory, and deferred and contractual revenue. What do you need for this Senior Accountant role?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
- 3-7 years of accounting experience
- MUST know Netsuite
- Experience with revenue and/or inventory accounting
- SaaS experience a plus
- Advanced Excel
- Prepares and enters assigned journal entries as well as miscellaneous accrual and adjustment journal entries within the closing timeline
- Prepare month-end reports as well as various ad-hoc reports (accounting schedules and analyses)
- Reconcile various assigned general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
- Ensure revenue recognition is in compliance with ASC 606 and other applicable accounting standards
- Review contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment, including subscription models, one-time fees, and professional services
- Collaborate with the sales and legal teams to evaluate terms and conditions related to revenue recognition and ensure alignment with company policies
- Prepare monthly and quarterly revenue schedules, deferrals, and accruals
- Assist with the external/internal quarterly and year-end financial audits
- Work closely with the finance team to help improve overall processes, driving efficiency and improvement/monitoring of internal controls
- Help develop and implement new policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
