Senior Accountant - Lovisa

Position Objectives

 Lovisa is looking for a Senior Accountant. This is a full-time opportunity, in which the Senior Accountant will assist in the day-to-day accounting activities of the department. This position is responsible for supporting management to maintain accurate financial records, preparing basic reports, and contributing to ensure compliance.

This position reports into the Finance Director - Americas and is based in our Support Center in Torrance, Los Angeles. 

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Review and respond to notices of sales tax filings prepared by Avalara for our Lovisa Retail stores and ecomm channels
• Prepare property tax forms utilizing our fixed assets reports and working with our team in Melbourne
• Make sure all related taxes are paid on time and coded appropriately
• Manage Accounts Payable team members ensuring timeliness payments and accuracy of coding
• Liaison with internal departments to support the opening of new stores
• Responsible for month-end close tasks and general ledger maintenance
• Manage email communications with states on all store tax related correspondence
• Assist with providing documentation for Year End Audit and to our external auditors
• Provide recommendations for improving processes and procedures
• Participate in Ad-hoc projects as needed

Required Skills

• Accounting Degree required
• 4+ years or more of related experience required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Oracle preferred not required
• Detail and solution-oriented
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
