Job Details
Responsibilities
Primary contact for all tax filings (i.e., federal income, state income, foreign income, sales/use, property, etc.)
Liaison with third-party tax service providers and lead internal fulfillment of PBC requests
Assist with all elements of the financial close process to ensure a timely close including:
Preparation of month-end journal entries
Preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations
Preparation of variance analyses
Preparation of management reporting
Primary areas of focus to start will be cash accounting and its associated reporting
Weekly cash flow forecasting
Daily/monthly cash reconciliation
Support implementing best-in-class practices for accounting processes as we transition to a new ERP system
Coordinate with others to resolve discrepancies between different modules of the ERP system (i.e., inventory, COGS, and accounts payable across multiple locations)
Determine the root cause, and consider corrective actions
Actively participate and contribute to all required audits, management & investor reporting, and tax filings so that they are completed by established deadlines
Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance
Continuously find ways to improve departmental quality through creating efficiencies, streamlining repetitive processes, and utilizing technology
Perform other accounting duties and support finance team members as required or assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minimum of three (3) years of relevant, progressive accounting experience required
Big 4 accounting experience preferred
CPA license preferred
Tax accounting experience required
Expertise in ERP systems preferred, multiple ERP systems experience a plus, ERP implementation experience a plus
Knowledge of accounting for a manufacturing environment a plus
Experience with project-based, percentage of completion accounting a plus
Expertise in the use of Microsoft Excel and other software programs available to maximize efficiency required
Strong knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required
Ability to prioritize workload, and meet multiple deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment with little to no supervision required
