Overview of the Senior Accountant role:
- Collaborate closely with the CFO and Assistant Controller to manage corporate financial affairs effectively.
- Supervise and coordinate the tasks of in-house accounting staff, as well as external accountants and bookkeepers both domestically and internationally.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance by reviewing and approving corporate bill payments and general ledger coding across all companies, both in the U.S. and abroad.
- The Senior Accountant will oversee and execute timely monthly and year-end closing procedures in adherence to the specified schedule. Review and approve all account reconciliations, implementing procedures to ensure accurate financial recording.
- Review and authorize internally generated consolidations and externally prepared consolidated GAAP financial statements. Coordinate consolidation processes with external accountants and review annual consolidated financial statements prepared by them.
- Manage corporate fixed asset tracking and accounting processes.
- Lead initiatives to analyze and enhance existing processes for increased efficiency and resource optimization without compromising accuracy.
- Coordinate all internal and external quarterly and annual financial reporting activities.
- Support the CFO in treasury activities and global cash management.
- Provide necessary training to new and existing staff members.
- Collaborate closely with the Corporate Assistant Controller on various matters including budgeting, internal financial reporting and analyses, tax returns (U.S. and non-U.S.), transfer pricing studies, and coordination with external accountants.
- Continuously strive to enhance and implement accounting best practices, building on previous improvement efforts.
Preferred Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related
- CPA designation
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
- 4-7 years of progressive experience
- Strong technical background
