Senior Accountant - J. Morrissey

A well respected, medium-sized accounting firm serving Fairfield and New Haven counties, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. This role is pivotal in supporting complex tax clients, including high-end partnerships and individual 1040 filings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare complex tax returns, including partnerships, S-corps, and 1040 filings.
• Review and resolve accounting issues related to tax preparation.
• Assist in managing tax engagements and meeting critical deadlines.
• Provide tax planning and advisory services for privately held businesses and individuals.
• Collaborate with audit staff to ensure accurate and efficient tax reporting.
• Assist in training junior staff on tax processes and accounting principles.
• Partner with firm leadership to optimize tax processes and client deliverables.

Qualifications:

• 4–5 years of experience preparing complex tax returns
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA certification preferred but not required.
• Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals (journal entries, adjustments, etc.).
• Ability to handle tax preparation for complex business and individual scenarios.
