Senior Accountant at Creative Financial Staffing

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and execute the month-end close process with precision, ensuring all journal entries are prepared and posted accurately and on time.
• Analyze and review general ledger accounts to maintain accuracy and integrity.
• Prepare monthly accruals, prepaids, and adjustments in alignment with GAAP.
• Reconcile critical balance sheet accounts, including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, prepaids, and accrued expenses.
• Investigate variances and resolve reconciling items promptly to ensure accurate financial statements.
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Deliver insightful variance analysis and commentary on significant changes in financial performance.
• Prepare audit schedules and documentation to support external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
• Identify opportunities for process enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize and document accounting procedures.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory standards in all financial activities.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong emphasis on month-end close and general ledger management.
• Experience in public accounting and/or corporate accounting is highly preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks) and Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and clear presentation of financial insights.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting REQUIRED
