Job Summary/Overview:
ITT seeks a highly motivated individual, seeking broad exposure in a fast-paced environment that encourages high performance. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently as well as in a team setting. The position will have exposure to general accounting and other departments within shared services as well as ITT Headquarters and global business units.
The Senior Accountant has primary responsibility for supporting the shared services accounting team in daily/monthly general ledger activity and quarterly financial reporting requirements. S/he will assist with the timely and accurate reporting of financial results and provide management with the level of support and information required for the successful day-to-day operation of the business. S/he will support the accounting team with month-end closings, Balance Sheet and P&L analysis, and special projects. In addition, s/he is also responsible for identifying and suggesting appropriate improvements, efficiencies and follow-up actions that become evident based on the analytical work performed.
Essential Responsibilities:Essential Functions of the Role:
- Perform a wide array of accounting and reporting tasks including but not limited to general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis to ensure the accuracy and integrity of multiple ledgers maintained by shared services.
- Research reconciling items and recommend actions for resolution.
- Support global pension and other postretirement benefits accounting activities
- Collaborate in gathering support and prepare certain quarterly and annual footnote disclosures for Forms 10Q/10K.
- Lead the PPD Insurance charge outs process in collaboration with Treasury/Tax Departments.
- Liaison the preparation and completion of certain 5500s forms and filing process.
- Recommend and implement ongoing improvements/enhancements to applications and processes.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Act and resolve audit issues/requests from both external and internal auditors.
Qualifications/Attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting. MBA or CPA preferred but not required
- Minimum of 5 years of practical accounting experience. Public accounting and or Shared services environment preferred but not required.
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience with complex ERP systems such as SAP and consolidating software such as Onestream/Hyperion is preferred but not required.
- Excellent research, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to partner, work effectively and communicate with other team members, departments, and upper management
- Proficient in a fast paced, global shared services environment
- Ability to work independently to meet deadlines and complete time sensitive projects
- Experience in and commitment to protecting sensitive and confidential information

The salary offered to a candidate is based several factors such as candidate experience and qualifications, location, as well as market and business considerations.Equal Pay Act Range:Annual Salary Range $78,100 to $116,900 plus benefits and incentive plans.
