The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller and plays an active role in the financial close process and the preparation of month-end/quarter-end journal entries. The Senior Accountant will be an integral contributor to the Financial Strategy and Business Excellence Department of the company and will have a broad range of responsibilities, including the monthly close, GL responsibilities, fulfilling the external reporting requirements, and developing process efficiencies. The individual in this position must possess excellent attention to detail, strong financial acumen, high aptitude for technology and economic systems, and a strong desire and ability to work within a dynamic environment. Responsibilities

1. Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations.
2. Prepare complex account reconciliations, analyses, and journal entries.
3. Prepare and reconcile revenue-related accounts and transactions including analysis of deferred revenue and earned revenue for the various segments of operations including membership, education, sponsorships, and advertising.
4. Perform on-going analytical review in support of the monthly close process.
5. Responsible for analyzing and interpreting financial information, compiling, gathering reporting information.
6. Support monthly and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations and accruals.
7. Maintain and understand documentation related to various inter-entity billings to calculate, invoice, and record earned fee revenue and receivables.
8. Pro-actively research and document conclusions on accounting issues with appropriate knowledge and interpretation of relevant GAAP pronouncements.
9. Maintain, establish, and improve documentation relating to internal accounting controls.
10. Prepare annual audit schedules and interact with auditors to complete the audit, consolidation, and tax returns.
11. Monitor adherence to audit requirements and ensure full compliance in accordance with regulatory agencies.
12. Participate in the preparation of the annual corporate budget and work with the management team to ensure the budget quality by obtaining supporting documentation and preparing the analysis.
13. Preparation of annual federal and state filings including the Form 990s and accompanying schedules including quarterly estimate calculations.
14. Serve as a financial resource; answer questions and provide ad-hoc financial support as requested.
15. Actively participate in meetings to communicate and share accounting, internal controls, and analysis information.
16. Provide back-up support to other team members as needed.

Desired Skills

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred
