We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic Senior Accountant to join our fast-paced, high-energy sales team. This is a permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in our financial management. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting with a specific focus on chargebacks, Marriot, and Hilton. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks that are critical to the financial health of our organization. These include but are not limited to:
1. Overseeing and managing all aspects of chargebacks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
2. Performing daily accounting tasks such as monthly financial reporting, general ledger entries, and record payments and adjustments.
3. Leveraging your expertise with Marriot and Hilton to streamline our processes and improve our financial performance.
4. Assisting with the development of internal control policies, procedures, and financial planning as required.
5. Collaborating with the sales team to align financial management with short and long-term financial planning and projections.
6. Ensuring compliance with all internal processes and legal requirements, keeping abreast of current trends in the financial industry.
7. Providing guidance and support to junior staff members, fostering a supportive and productive work environment.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the hotel and tourism industry.
2. Proven experience with chargebacks, Marriot, and Hilton.
3. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or similar qualification is highly desirable.
4. Excellent mathematical skills and an understanding of data privacy standards.
5. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
6. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and other accounting software.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
8. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
9. Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and analytically.
