Insero Talent Solutions has partnered with a historic club in Rochester to recruit a Senior Accountant.
Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant will support the Controller in Creating financial transactions, including posting information to accounting journals or accounting software generating invoices and cash receipts. Maintaining check register, bank reconciliations for operating accounts, A/P, cash disbursements, depreciation accounts and financial statements. Administering A/P ledger, including entry and posting invoices to proper accounts, check processing, vendor maintenance, void or correction of invoices.
Responsibilities:
- Reconciling accounts, preparing monthly statements and answering questions.
- Maintaining records and accounts and preparing changes and statements.
- Receiving and reconciling payments on accounts.
- Prepares deposits for members’ payments on their accounts.
- Advises Controller about delinquent member accounts, runs the monthly AR over 60 Day report and makes collection calls as appropriate.
- Manages the automated Accounts Payable and Cash Payment system.
- Responds to member and vendor billing inquiries.
- Coordinates the resolution of member disputes with the appropriate department head and the member.
- Audits point-of-sale charges and credit card sales.
- Amortizes and reconciles prepaid expenses.
- Audits banquet revenues with Banquet Event Orders.
- Audits event and tournament revenues.
- Coordinates with managers on complimentary items.
- Maintains journals, checks registers, bank reconciliations, general journal.
- Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts.
- Prepares bank deposits.
- Reconciles operating bank statements.
- Maintains an orderly accounting and filing system.
- Assists Controller on all matters related to annual and special audits, as needed.
- Answers members’ questions regarding billing.
- Completes fixed asset management.
- Ensures month end close is complete.
- Assists with projects in the Business Office.
- Attends departmental and club training meetings.
- Completes other appropriate assignments made by the Controller.
Requirements:
- AAS in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field with 2 or more years of relevant experience.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and work on simultaneous projects.
- Experience utilizing Microsoft applications, including Word and Excel, and accounting software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively to all levels of employees.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Positive outlook within the workplace and can work in a team environment.
