About the Role:
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role within our Finance Department, focusing primarily on the management of our financial records and treasury operations. This includes meticulous general ledger reviews, thorough account reconciliations, and careful monitoring of month-end journal entries. Your expertise will also support treasury activities across multiple bank accounts and entities. Reporting directly to the Controller, you will aid in achieving our financial objectives by supporting team members and ensuring thoroughness in our accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Entries and Reconciliations: Manage all necessary journal entries for month-end closures, including but not limited to deferred and prepaid rents, as well as accruals for accounts payable. Maintain and update reconciliation schedules.
- Treasury Management: Oversee daily treasury tasks such as positive pay and bank account management, ensuring optimal funding and resolving transactional queries in collaboration with accounting staff.
- General Ledger and Reporting: Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts, identify discrepancies, research solutions, and implement corrective actions. Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes and contribute to the preparation of financial statements.
- Process Improvement: Actively participate in enhancing financial processes to boost efficiency and accuracy across the board.
- Ad Hoc Reporting: Generate ad hoc reports and perform detailed account analysis as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
- 4-6 years of progressive experience in accounting.
- Proficiency in General Ledger software; familiarity with ProLaw is advantageous.
- Experience in a law firm or professional services firm is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting regulations.
