Job Details
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP or other relevant accounting standards.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing analysis and insights to support strategic planning.
- Month-End Close: Lead the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Audit Support: Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate information is provided.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Variance Analysis: Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for significant differences between actual and budgeted/forecasted figures.
- Financial Analysis: Perform detailed financial analysis to support business decisions, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and support junior accounting staff, providing guidance and fostering professional development.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the accounting function.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
Qualifications - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Restaurant365) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Leadership and team-building capabilities.
Certifications: CPA or relevant accounting certification is a bonus.
