The Senior Accountant will play a key role to contributing to building best-in-class accounting team in Raleigh, NC. This position is open due to the movement of these roles and team from Colorado to the Triangle. This position will report to the Accounting Manager. Sensaria is owned by Circle Graphics, Inc, a privately owned, private equity backed company.
As Senior Accountant you will be responsible for ensuring that transactions of the business have been properly accounted for and accurately reflect the company’s accounting process and financial results. The Senior Accountant provides support to department activities with specific responsibility for ensuring that overall fiscal policies, practices and/or regulations meet compliance requirements.
The Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for all the following financial activities:
Treasury, Month-end and GL Processing
- Responsible for the creation of weekly AR Aging report including supporting schedules for the company’s borrow base certificate (BBC)
- Reconciliations of daily cash and resolve outstanding items in a timely matter for multiple bank accounts
- Prepare and/or review, enter and post journal entries
- Maintain capital asset records, including additions, disposal and depreciation
- Maintain debt schedules including month-end entries
- Prepare GL account reconciliations, as assigned, to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Prepare sales tax reports for outside preparer
- Prepare monthly commissions/rebates and quarterly royalties
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with generally accepted accounting policies and procedures
- Make certain all financial reporting deadlines are met
- Research financial statements variances
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes
- Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data
- Recommendations of process improvements
- Drive continuous improvement to ensure efficient and effective processes
- Reconcile daily cash activity for multiple accounts
- Process sales tax certificates as received
- Update sales systems with sales tax information
- Process fixed assets requests, update fixed asset schedule and enter into Fixed Asset System
- Assist with preparation and reports for financial audit and audit process
- Assist with sales and use tax audits
- Inventory appraisals, third party financial and bank audits periodically
- Assist with integration of future company acquisitions
- Assist with projects relating to divisional split within the organization
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
As Senior Accountant, you will have:
- Ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations using Excel
- Ability to read technical information, and compose a variety of documents
- Excellent attention to detail and follow through with communication and a sense of urgency for deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, both internally and externally
- Specific knowledge of GAAP, principles of accounting and auditing
- Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures, policies, regulations and/or laws
- Ability to problem solve with data that frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines
- Analyze a variety of financial and statistical information
- Ability to work well under time constraints
- Communicating with a diverse group of people
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (such as SAP)
- Strong computer skills, particularly with Excel (advanced), Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred
- Minimum 5 years experience in Accounting
- Public and Private company experience preferred
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- CPA or CGMA license or equivalent preferred
- Competence with financial software and technology
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Experience managing and/or participating in a monthly close process required
- Highly motivated and self-directed, with keen attention to detail
- SAP B1 or other ERP experience, preferred
- Must be able to work under limited supervision
- Must be adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people
- Utilization of resources from other work units may be required to perform he job’s functions
- Requires public contact and excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, outside legal, auditors, clients, customers and the general public
This role is hybrid, with 3 days per week in our beautiful offices near RDU International /I-40.
