Job Summary: The Senior Accountant / HR Specialist is a key member of the Business Office, responsible for administering employee benefit programs, processing payroll through ADP WFN, onboarding new employees, managing benefits administration, performing general ledger accounting functions, and ensuring audit/regulatory compliance. This role requires a detail-oriented and organized individual with a strong background in accounting, payroll, and human resources.
Key Responsibilities & Project:
- Onboarding project within ADP WFN
- Build system within ADP WFN - efficient, electronic system, self-serve
- Coordinate and conduct new employee onboarding, including orientation and training on company policies and procedures.
- Employee Benefits Administration:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.
- Assist employees with benefit-related inquiries and issues.
- Conduct annual benefits enrollment and manage ongoing benefit changes.
- Offboarding:
- Manage offboarding processes, completing all necessary documentation and final payroll.
- HR Support:
- Support HR initiatives and projects as needed.
- Assist with employee relations issues and guide HR policies and procedures.
- Assist with leave administration
- Payroll Processing:
- Manage and process payroll through ADP WFN accurately and timely.
- Ensure compliance with all payroll regulations and tax requirements.
- Handle payroll discrepancies and resolve any issues promptly.

General Ledger Accounting:
- Perform general ledger accounting functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes.
- Prepare financial reports and statements as required.

Audit and Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to payroll, benefits, and accounting.
- Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all accounting and HR-related activities.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in accounting and project management
- Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now (WFN) or similar payroll systems.
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, benefit administration, and accounting principles.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Blackbaud experience a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SHRM certification preferred.
- Experience in a business office environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
